What is IMSA Membership?
Oxford Life® Insurance Company is a member of the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association (IMSA). IMSA
membership signifies compliance with, and dedication to, a stringent set of principles
and standards, which seek to foster fair market conduct, effective supervision of
insurance agents, and prompt resolution of policyholder complaints.
Achieving membership in this voluntary organization is a rigorous process. First,
Oxford Life® performed a thorough self-assessment of its sales and marketing
practices. Once we were satisfied that we were fully compliant with IMSA's detailed
requirements, an independent assessor then verified that compliance had been achieved.
As a member, Oxford Life® is committed to the following IMSA Principles of
Ethical Market Conduct:
- To conduct business according to high standards of honesty and fairness and to render
that service to its customers which, in the same circumstances, it would apply to
or demand for itself.
- To provide competent and customer-focused sales and service.
- To engage in active and fair competition.
- To provide advertising and sales materials that are clear as to purpose and honest
and fair as to content.
- To provide for fair and expeditious handling of customer complaints and disputes.
- To maintain a system of supervision and review that is reasonably designed to achieve
compliance with these Principles of Ethical Market Conduct.
IMSA is a voluntary membership organization whose purpose is to promote high ethical
standards in the sale of individual life insurance, annuity and long-term care products
by its members. IMSA member companies are committed to following a specific set
of standards in their advertising, sales and service for individual life insurance
and annuity products.
Once a company becomes an IMSA member, it is allowed to display the IMSA logo in
its advertisements and sales materials. The IMSA logo stands for life insurance
companies that commit to high ethical standards in the marketplace.
